Doctor Who Series 1 Episode 1: Rose
Doctor Who Series 1 Episode 1: Rose
Rose Tyler, a young woman working in a London department store named Henriks, finds herself, one night after closing, surrounded by plastic mannequins that have come to life in the basement. She is saved by a man, introducing himself as “The Doctor”, who tells her to flee the building and then destroys the transmitter that is being used to control the mannequins, effectively destroying the building in the process.
Rose talks with her boyfriend, Mickey Smith, about her experience, and they find a conspiracy theory website that claims a man fitting the Doctor’s description has appeared throughout history. Rose and Mickey visit Clive, the man who runs the website. While Rose is in Clive’s house, Mickey is kidnapped and replaced with a plastic replicant. When the fake Mickey attempts to question Rose about the Doctor, the Doctor shows up and beheads the replicant. The Doctor takes Rose to his TARDIS, which is disguised as a 20th century police box, and uses the fake Mickey’s head to locate the controlling signal. The Doctor explains to Rose that the fake Mickey was an Auton, controlled by the Nestene Consciousness, and that if he cannot stop it by using a vial of “anti-plastic” liquid, it will destroy all humans on Earth.
The Nestene Consciousness has taken up residence beneath the London Eye. The Doctor tries to negotiate with it, but the Nestene has discovered the Doctor’s TARDIS and recognizes him for what he is and that he cannot make up for the destruction of its home during “the war.” The Nestene activates all the autons at the Queens Arcade in anger. Several shoppers are shot dead, including Clive. The Doctor, with no choice, kills the Nestene Consciousness with the “anti-plastic.”
After fleeing the underground complex with Mickey, who was held hostage by the Nestene Consciousness, the Doctor offers Rose more adventures with him. Though Rose initially refuses as she is concerned about her mother and Mickey, she quickly joins with the Doctor when he explains that the TARDIS can also travel in time as well as space.

I’ve seen various episodes of the newest two seasons, so i only know David Tennant and the new guy, Matt Smith. However, I don’t know if I can accept anyone other than David Tenant as the Doctor… He just has… Character, yuo know? Well, I’m going to start at episode 1 then=)…

David Tennant is my Doctor, but I think that if Christopher Ecleston had stayed longer, he could have been almost as good.
Matt Smith is OK, but it seems like he’s kind of copying David Tennant, he’s not totally originally. But i like his and Amy’s chemistry, although it’s nothing on Rose and the Doctor!

My favorite doctor is currently David Tennant (mostly because I’ve only really watched him and Matt Smith). When he and Rose were separated, I was crying, and I just think he’s a better actor all around. I heard Tom Baker is the best, so I’m going to watch him on here.

i’ve been watching since the first christopher eccleston episode (this one), and have seen all of the new series episodes. i have to say: david tennant is the best, christopher eccleston is a close second (i wish they both could have stayed longer) and matt smith is pretty good, but needs to stop copying david tennant.
